I’m looking for any information about school cadets in Della Salle 1972, including the caribou crash
I am interested to know if you heard stories about the Australian crew of a Beaufort bomber which crashed near the Sepik River during World War 2? Legend has it that their skulls were found in a native village and that a Japanese soldier who did not know the war had ended the year before, attacked the RAAF search party but was killed for his efforts. I understand the remains were recovered for local burial. I have no idea of the plane’s identity and would welcome stories or photographs, cheers Kim
Max Mckoy RAAF searcher team member killed the Japanese who attacked him with a sword at the village. Details from Jim Eames book The Searchers.
